These two and this day! I instantly clicked with Kristin from our meeting on to engagements and boudoir--I couldn't wait for their Wedding day! Nowww weather, I still have a bone to pick. Kristin and Jason were originally set to have their ceremony at the Nansemond River Golf course but due to torrential downpours and even tornadoes touching down; they switched to their family church as a back up. I have to give huge props to Kristin because I never saw her upset about the decision and she never seemed phased. She kept her smile because at the end of the day it didn't matter, she was still marrying her best friend. I love them and their positive attitudes. This did make portrait times tough, however. We were able to snag a few pictures at the alter of the church and from there we just crossed our fingers and prayed the rain would at least let up a bit for a few portraits! Some of my favorite parts of the day: Kristin and her dad sharing a 'first look'. I always like to ask if a bride is interested in this and make them aware--some care and love the idea; others don't and that's ok! I'll never forget the 'first look' I shared with my dad and seeing him cry for the first time; it'll always be a moment I cherish and I want to ensure my brides have that experience as well, if they so choose! Kristin is a daddy's girl through and through, undeniable!! Seeing the two of them soak in that moment; tears of love, pride and joy. Priceless!! Also, I loved the guys attire, so fun and different! Love bowties, love the pop of color--do what suits you! Next favorite; the uniting of their families and the amazing group friends they had. Their day was filled with so much joy and laughter...aaaand a few shots ;)
Right before nightfall, after dancing and drinking and dinner--the rain subsided some. It was muggy, misty and all the bridesmaids were barefoot but we didn't care and Kristin didn't care--we dragged those babes out for some wet pictures and they were the best sports! We had a tough time with our lenses and the weather but Kristen and Jason were all smiles--even as they waded through a little mud :) I love their love and I'm so happy we were able to share in their perfect day!
